Twenty Years of Recognition - Moreton Bay an International Wetlands Site
Twenty years ago Moreton Bay became designated an internationally important wetland under the RAMSAR convention. The Bay is beside Brisbane City in Queensland Australia, and is a major summer visiting site for migratory shorebirds that fly to and from the Arctic circle every year. We set up a public education stall at the bayside in Sandgate to celebrate. A delegation of Japanese shorebird enthisiasts also attended. The slideshow celebrates their visit and expresses our thanks to them for taking the journey - along with the birds of course!
